Our goal in making this site available has been to acquaint not only the
residents of Dickson County, but people around the world, with the men and women
of the Sheriff's Office and the important job that they do.
Our goal and commitment is not only to protect and serve the people of Dickson
County, but to involve them as well; in helping us make their homes and
businesses safer, better places to live, work and raise children. By working
together, all of us have helped make Dickson County one of the safest areas in
the State.
Dickson County occupies a total of 490 square miles, The population is now over
52,000. The incorporated cities within the county are Dickson, Charlotte (County
seat), White Bluff, Burns, and Vanleer. The Sheriff's Office also provides
service to the UN-incorporated communities of Cumberland Furnace, Sylvia,
Slayden, Stayton, Tennessee City, and Clay Lick.
The Sheriff's Office is staffed by over 100 people that include Patrol Officers,
Detectives, Corrections, Secretaries, Cooks, and Medical Personnel. The
Sheriff's Office also has a special operations team that responds to incidents
that require special training (high risk), search warrants, or hostage
situations.
Again, welcome. We hope that your visit will provide a basic understanding of
our organization, but more importantly, a look at the men and women of the
Dickson County Sheriff's Office.
Sincerely,
Sheriff Tom Wall
